Also known as the Mexican dreaming herb or by its former identification Calea ternifolia.

It is part of the daisy family (Asteraceae) and native to Mexico and Central America.

It is largely known for its oneirogenic qualities and for its intensely bitter taste. While awake the herb helps to clarify the senses, otherwise having little effect on the waking body. Calea mainly effects us during our REM sleep and brings about a sense of realness and intensity to the dreaming which make it great for those practising lucid dreaming.

Due to Calea's potent dreaming effects, it is usually brewed as a tea and drank slowly before going to sleep, if you can get past the bitter taste. This allows for divinatory messages to come through our sleeping state and be more easily recalled with clarity after waking up.
